Happy For Spring!

Hello Everyone, and (finally) Happy Spring!!
It has been a brutal winter here in Michigan. The sun is now shining and the Robins are flying in the yard. A great big fat Mama Robin was even having a nice bath in the bird-feeder the other day. After the snow a cold we have had, even the rain seems glorious to me.
He is the project that my monthly club will be doing for April. I hit a sort of Artistic-block and had to cruise around pinterest to get going for these. The cards are from Close To My Heart and so is the paper. It is Dream Pop and I have just now opened the package from last year. LOVE IT!! So fun and bright. Just what the doctor ordered to cheer me up!
The cards are a heavy, solid weight giving them a very professional presentation. They are White Daisy and although in my opinion our White Daisy is the BEST white paper on the market, it posed a few road-blocks with the first paper I was planning to use. I was trying to use our Timberline pack and the white was just too stark next to it. Enter: Dream Pop. Perfection! Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Crafting! These spinner cards are available in our current catalog. Please visit my Close To My Heart site to order. Thank you in advance for your order!

Chip-Album for February!

Hi there!

I decided to change things up a bit for February and do a Chip-board-cover Album instead of cards or pages. Mostly I make things to be used in my Close To My Heart Scrapbooking club but this time I have gone 'off grid' and used almost all non-ctmh products. While in Florida over Christmas break I discovered some album covers and papers just right for a spring album using the binding system by zutter that has been in my sewing-room just itching to be used. I will go through the book from front cover to inside the back cover and try to mention what was done and what I used.

This is the front cover. I have used the stamp set from the Flirty ctmh Workshop On The Go for this album. Assorted 'rustic' papers, some cotton lace and a half zipper adorn the front. Also several coordinating ribbons from my stash just to 'tie' the colors all in together.

This is the first page inside the front cover. I used more Kraft paper as a photo-base. The vintage style stamps pull the theme back to an older time and I used ctmh satin trimmed ribbon (retired) to soften the effect a bit.

Next up, I lined the previous page with a denim paper then added a Kraft paper pocket page. I used 1st and 2nd generation stamping to add some flower bits in Outdoor Denim Ink by ctmh.
As you can see, I made the page narrower than the following page both allowing the buttons to show and also giving them some space while the album is closed.

Here is the 2-page spread with the buttons showing.
I used a cut from the ctmh Artbooking Cartridge for Cricut to pull the rosey pink out of the darling floral print. Reminds me of wallpaper my Grandma would have had. The teal buttons are shell and tied with a rosey embroidery floss.

Backing the button page is another tiny floral, this time in rose, a mustard yellow and a deep green. To complement the colors, I chose two less busy papers for the base and the frame but stuck to the paler butterfly top over a deep green.

This set was a challenge. The base on the page on the left is a very busy chevron pattern that was sure to be too much to have the whole page done in it. I toned it down with a rough musical sheet, some Kraft paper and a Colonial White ric-rac. The facing page was fine but I added the little bird from the Flirty stampset just for fun.

And last but not least is the inside of the back cover. I used the Flirty stampset again, this time using the dandelion style stamp in 1st and 2nd generation with Outdoor Denim ctmh ink. Outdoor Denim is one of my all time favorite ink colors from ctmh. It is a beautiful deep and rich navy that compliments these papers perfectly. Using the different generations of stamping lets you imagine looking into a cluster of dandelions just about to be blown away on a breeze.

Thanks for taking a look at my Chipboard Album. I had fun playing with these materials and you can too. It's fun to try something new and/or different once in awhile so as not to become stale in your papercrafting. I have not overly embellished this as I will be using it as a demo and kit for club. Once I am done showing it for club and taking orders, I can add my own photos, bits and pieces, perhaps tickets to a featured event. You know, make it personal.
If you would be interested in ordering a kit, please e-mail me at debbiemay3115@yahoo.com
Prices start at $5.00 plus ship and handling and go to $20.00 plus ship and handling.

Happy February and Crafting!

Frozen in Michigan!

Well Hello and Greetings from Michigan where we just keep getting more and more snow all the time. It's been great to be inside scrapbooking away but I am getting a little bit 'cabin-feverish'!

Once again it's been ages since I was on here to post. If you are new to my blog, welcome! If you have been with me awhile, thanks for waiting for me to surface again!
It's been a crazy, busy, fun Winter. I had a crop the end of Summer that was a huge success. Then in October I did a HUGE thing for me and went to the Close To My Heart Album Retreat in Salt Lake City, Utah! All alone from Michigan. On a plane. Wow. This was my first big trip alone and it was a blast. I met an online friend from CTMH in person for the first time. It was a little scary meeting someone that I had been chatting with for about 8 months for the first time. I had only seen one picture of her and had no idea what she would be like in real life! She is THE BEST. We hit it off just fine and have become even better friends since. The CTMH Retreat was absolutely fabulous and if you would ever like to join an organization that puts on a wonderful Retreat and is a great company to represent, get in touch with me and join my team of consultants. We have the best products available and I can help you get started. Info for signing up is on my ctmh site- debbiemay.ctmh.com

OK, here are a few things I have done since chatting with you. The first is the set of 2 layouts my club did for our Christmas Party Project. It was pretty labor intensive cutting kits for 18 ladies but they all enjoyed them and I did too.

As you can see, I am not a heavy 'embellisher'. I make the kits up and the ladies can keep them as they are or if they really get into lots of bling, for instance, they are free to add to their heart's content.

The next layout I want to share with you is for this February, keeping Valentine's Day in mind. I was trying to keep a 'lovey' theme without getting carried away. It is made with mostly Close To My Heart product. I did add some buttons and paper flowers that coordinated with the Chantilly Paper colors I used. I hope you can click on the image to enlarge it to see better details.

Have you tried ink-misting? It is a blast! CTMH sells spray-pens that allow you to load your own ink and water, if you wish, and then mist your pages for a lovely soft background coloration. Love the affect! For this layout I used ctmh Blush re-inker with a 1 to 2 part water mix. 1 part ink, 2 parts water.
This kit is available from now until February 15th to order. Kit with inking done for you- $10.00 plus tax and ship. Completed Layout- $20.00 plus tax and ship. Questons? Call 810-434-0354 or e-mail debbiemay3115@yahoo.com.

That's it for now. If you have a moment, I would strongly encourage you to check out my ctmh website right away-  debbiemay.ctmh.com   Our new catalog goes LIVE on February 1st and the new paper selections are just beautiful. Lots of new items and kits to keep you dreaming and busy all summer. Don't forget to go to the 'While Supplies Last" section in the Shopping section to see some really great REDUCED price steals. I love this part best!!
Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to ya soon!

September Card Class

My goodness, it's been a long time since I posted on here!! How are you all? I have the worst time remembering how to sign in and then post. Apparently I need to keep a list of who I am, what my passwords are, what day it is when I post.....you get the picture. I told you all in the beginning I am not very computer savvy and I wasn't kidding!
So here is what I have been working on for my September Card Class. I used the retired Roxie paper and some of the newer stamps. I just love this paper and the colors seemed perfect for the 'almost Fall' weather we are having in Michigan. Enjoy!

What do you think? I love to have a coordinating envelope with the cards. The 'Friend' stamp on the card that is on the right is from the new Hostess Selection stamps that Close To My Heart now offers.
Please check out my website to purchase Close To My Heart products.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to be more regular about posting again now that my youngest is back in school for the year. Hard to believe another summer break is behind us!

Talk to you soon,
Debbie

Baby's First Birthday- Thank you.

Hello,
Boy-o-boy has this been a crazy busy summer. I like lazy slow summers but what are ya gonna do?
Our youngest grandson is turning one this week and for his birthday party his parents had a Whale theme on everything from his shirt to the cake to the decorations. We ordered the stamp set New Baby- C1541 from Close To My Heart and used that as a starting point for the Thank-you notes his Mama had me make. As the guests arrived for the party, she 'nonchalantly' took pictures of each of them with the Baby of the Hour.
She will be able to hand deliver most of the cards and if any need to be sent in the mail, we can easily whip one up that will work just fine. You will see that I chose to make a slider style card for this and on the inside is where she will place the photo that was taken at the party. This way it will be more of a keepsake with heart than just a simple thank-you note that might get tossed quickly.
Enjoy!

Next is the card opened/slid out to show where the picture of the guest and Henry will go.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful 'rest of your summer'!!!

Puns of Praise Little Cards

Hello there!!
It's has been a long time since I posted and it's not because I haven't been busy, I have.
This summer break has gone so fast that I can hardly believe it. It is already the end of July and I am starting my yearly 'pout' about school starting way too soon.
I have been busy with my scrapbooking business and all the latest from Close To My Heart. We are wrapping up the Spring/Summer catalog and getting ready to debut the new Fall/Winter catalog. Oh boy, are we all in for some fun. The new products and paper collections are gorgeous and I can't wait to dig into the packages of new items I ordered.
But first, I would like to share with you the set of cards we did the other night in my monthly Card Class. We used the CTMH stamp set- Puns of Praise, and made a nice little set featuring each of the seven stamps in the set. This set will not appear in the Fall/Winter catalog but can still be purchased until January. The set number is C1535. If you'd like to purchase this set for yourself, please click over to my Close To My Heart site. While you are there you will be able to browse the specials and as always, check out the 'While Supplies Last' section for last minute goodies!
Here you go:
From Left to Right top: Looking Good, Time flies when I'm with you, You're the light of my life, You're sew thoughtful, You're magnificent
bottom: You're a picture of perfection, I'm your biggest fan.

I used Kraft Paper for all of the bases and made envelopes for the little ones from the Kraft Paper, also.
For the two larger cards I used Colonial White Envelopes. These were fun and the ladies enjoyed them
and had some clever ideas about who they would be good for.
Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you again soon!
